TOP CHEFS GATHER TO “CELEBRATE THE CRAFT” AND
SPOTLIGHT CALIFORNIA’S PREMIER CULINARY OFFERINGS

San Diego chefs, farmers, ranchers, and vintners come together for 11th annual festival

SAN DIEGO, California (August 2013) – Experience the 11th annual, “Celebrate the Craft” held October 6th from 11:30am to 3:00pm at The Lodge at Torrey Pines. As in years past, the celebration will feature the finest food artisans from across California’s broad culinary spectrum, demonstrating, discussing, and tasting their way through the vast array of premium food and wine products available. Growers, vintners, and culinary artisans from some of California’s most renowned farms, bakeries, wineries, and restaurants, will share their skill and enthusiasm.

Along with premier chefs and producers, “Celebrate the Craft” is proud to provide an assortment of world renowned California wine vintners such as Brewer Clifton, Palmina, or Joseph Phelps. Chardonnays, Pinot Noirs, Pinot Grigios, etc. will pair perfectly with the bold flavors of showcased plates and tasters.

When Executive Chef Jeff Jackson of The Lodge at Torrey Pines moved to San Diego 13 years ago, he envisioned creating a local chef community. Having an “open door” policy allowed for collaboration and discussions of new and innovative ways to create and deliver Farm to Table cuisine, which later resulted in the first “Celebrate the Craft.” In a city absorbed with culinary creativity, where freshness and imagination prevail, the Craft highlights the passion and art of the California’s culinary artisans.

“The growing season runs year-round in our neck of Southern California, and the local agricultural community takes full advantage. With a daily abundance of fresh produce to work with, it’s little wonder why our local chefs are so creative,” said Chef Jeff Jackson.

“Celebrate the Craft” will take place at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, a Five-Diamond resort in La Jolla, California, which embodies the very best of Pacific Coast Living.
