Li'Tya "Sacred Earth Ritual" Treatment Features Australian
Botanicals and Aboriginal Healing Techniques

(La Jolla, California) -- The Spa at Torrey Pines, a luxurious full-service spa retreat located in La Jolla where guests can indulge in therapeutic treatments designed to rejuvenate the spirit, has just added Li'Tya treatments incorporating Australian botanicals and aboriginal healing techniques.

Drawn to treatment rituals of various cultures, Spa Director, Darcie DeBartelo embraced Li'Tya's spa philosophy because of its emphasis on holistic practices of the Aboriginal peoples therapeutic benefits. "In deciding on treatments for the spa, I focused on the integrity and therapeutic value of each service," states DeBartelo. "All of our treatments allow guests to embark on a journey designed to ease them away from the stresses of daily life towards a state of serenity."

The Spa at Torrey Pines will feature a signature Li'Tya treatment that incorporates a complete journey for the mind and body. Offered within the Li'Tya Sacred Earth Ritual, ancient indigenous medicines and massage techniques are combined with aromatherapy, color therapy, and herbalist principles. Ground yourself with a smudging that will carry you into a dream-like state while experiencing soothing mud based earth ochres and native oil blends.

Li'Tya is the realization of founder Gayle Heron's vision to create a unique range of natural therapeutic spa care treatments that tap the wisdom and practices of the indigenous peoples of Australia. Li'Tya strives to appreciate and honor the wisdom and traditions of the aboriginal people. In this spirit, Heron started the Baiame Foundation, a non-profit organization to assist Australia's indigenous people. Li'Tya donates a percentage of all profits to the Foundation.

Nestled in the Five Diamond-rated Lodge at Torrey Pines®, the 9,500-sq. ft. Spa at Torrey Pines is inspired by the design principles of the Arts & Crafts movement as depicted by the style of Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Many of the furnishings are custom-made and imported from Scotland. A feng shui expert was retained to advise on the layout designed to reflect a residential feel. The Spa features separate women's and men's retreats with 14 private treatment rooms, saunas, herbal-infused steam rooms, and aromatherapy inhalation rooms. Between treatments, guests can relax and enjoy thoughtfully designed touches such as a fireplace in the co-ed lounge, and a large-screen television, and comfortable chairs in the men's lounge. The spa menu features a complete line of restorative treatments such as therapeutic, meditative and cobblestone massages, facials, body wraps, Vichy shower and hydrotherapy amongst other amenities. Many of the products used in The Spa are available for purchase so guests can continue their spa experience at home. The Spa is open to both hotel and day spa guests.
