The Lodge at Torrey Pines Receives AAA Five Diamond Designation for 17th Consecutive Year

January 2019

La Jolla, California – The Lodge at Torrey Pines, one of the most notable Southern California luxury resorts, has earned the 2019 AAA Five Diamond award for the 17th consecutive year. Since its opening in 2002, The Lodge has maintained its Five Diamond rating annually, based on the rigorous criteria put forth by AAA. Only 0.4 percent of the nation’s 27,000 hotel properties inspected earn the accolade, which is regarded as one of the travel industry’s most notable awards.

“Being an AAA Five Diamond hotel is a testament to the quality of care that our dedicated team displays every day,” says Bill Gross, General Manager of The Lodge at Torrey Pines. “Whether it be personalized service, thoughtful amenities, or a well taken care of guest room, we strive to provide exceptional hospitality through every guest touchpoint. We are truly proud of receiving this award since the opening of our resort in 2002.”

According to the Auto Club, the hotels that receive a Five Diamond Rating undergo a number of checks and balances including in-person inspections, anonymous overnight stays and a review by a panel of experts to ensure credibility. In addition to evaluating the physical attributes of the resort, inspectors assess all aspects of guest service, from initial reservation through checkout, to determine if the hotel offers the custom service today’s luxury hotel guests expect.
