Chef Carmine Lopez from Wolf in the Woods will show off her talents during a collaborative Playing with Fire dinner with The Lodge at Torrey Pines’ venerable Executive Chef Kelli Crosson. Hosted on The Grill’s patio overlooking the Torrey Pines Golf Course, every event includes selections of various proteins and seasonal sides cooked over a wood-burning fire. Guests will also enjoy pours from this event's featured local brewery Fall Brewing Company.

A portion of the event's proceeds benefits MAKE Projects, a San Diego nonprofit that empowers refugee and immigrant women and youth with the job readiness skills to achieve their dreams.

Chef Carmine Lopez

Born in the Philippines and raised in Japan, Chef Carmine Lopez's successful career started immediately after graduating from the Art Institute’s Culinary school. She first began at Azul Steakhouse of La Jolla where she worked her way up to eventually become the Executive Chef. Eight years later, Chef Carmine left her first culinary job to open her first restaurant as Executive Chef of Great Maple in Hillcrest — a San Diego mainstay known for its sweet and savory brunch. Eight years later, she opened a new restaurant called Wolf in the Woods, an intimate tapas bistro with New Mexico-inspired decor in the neighborhood of Mission Hills. She is currently the Executive Chef and partner while also teaching as a part-time culinary instructor at Mesa College.
