Chefs Sydney Imlay and David Sim of Kingfisher will show off their talents during a collaborative Playing with Fire dinner with The Lodge at Torrey Pines’ Executive Chef Kelli Crosson and Chef de Cuisine Ryan Dzierzawski. Hosted on The Grill’s patio overlooking the Torrey Pines Golf Course, each Playing with Fire event highlights the bold flavors of wood-fired proteins, vibrant seasonal sides, and a delicious dessert—each dish inspired by what’s fresh at the market. Guests will also enjoy pours from this event's featured local brewery, Coronado Brewing Company, making for a uniquely memorable culinary experience al fresco in the evening air.

A portion of the event's proceeds benefits Zero FoodPrint, a nonprofit that helps fund farm projects that draw carbon straight from the atmosphere and store it underground, resulting in better food, thriving farms, and a restored climate.
About Our Featured Chefs from Kingfisher
Chef Sydney Imlay, a fifth-generation San Diegan, got her start at Filippi’s Pizza Grotto and went on to work at The Lodge at Torrey Pines and George's at the Cove. She supported World Central Kitchen’s Fish to Families program before rising from line cook to chef de cuisine at Kingfisher, where she blends French technique with Chef David’s vision.
Chef David Sim, a first-generation Cambodian-American raised in San Diego, started at In-N-Out before joining Trust Restaurant Group and becoming executive chef at Kingfisher in 2023. His menu reflects his Southeast Asian heritage and love for seasonal California ingredients, sharing culture through food.
