History of The Lodge at Torrey Pines
The Lodge at Torrey Pines is located on Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California, one of Southern California’s most picturesque destinations. The original property was built as a 74-room inn in 1961 and was purchased by the Evans family in 1995. In 2000, the hotel was closed, most areas of the hotel were demolished, and the property was completely redeveloped.
Reopened in early 2002, The Lodge today is a 170-room luxury hotel built in the early California craftsman style. The property includes two restaurants and lounges, a full-service spa and fitness center, extensive banquet and meeting facilities, and an ample outdoor recreation area with pool, whirlpool spa, cabanas, and food and beverage service. The Lodge also operates food and beverage options on the adjacent golf courses, beverage carts and snack bar.
The hotel received a AAA Five Diamond rating upon reopening in April 2002 and has continued to be awarded the prestigious award since then. The hotel is owned and operated by family owned and San Diego-based hospitality group Evans Hotels.
